Finding your first midwife
Your verloskundige is a familiar point of contact for questions, appointments, and preparing for birth.
Where do I start?
Contact a local midwifery practice after a positive pregnancy test. Ask how to register and when your first appointment will be. You do not have to wait until you have everything figured out.
What should I ask?
Ask who will provide your care, how to reach them outside office hours, and what appointments to expect. Write down your questions, including the ones that feel small.
Care that fits you
Consider location and your preferred style of support. If you prefer English or another language, ask what is available. You and your care provider will discuss the care that suits your personal circumstances.
General information, not personal medical advice. Discuss your situation with your care provider.
